Lawton was
born in the USA but he is mainly known as a country artist in Europe. He settled
in the Netherlands and built himself a reputation in various European venues,
but although he made tours in the UK, he was unable to match his level of
support in mainland Europe. He has recorded with European musicians, including
an excellent version of Merle Haggard’s song ‘Somewhere Between’ with Dutch
country artist Ine Masseurs. In the new millennium he continues to perform
throughout Europe.
