Johnny OTIS

Batteur et chef d'orchestre US né John Veliotes, le 28 décembre 1921 à Vallejo (Californie). Johnny Otis, fils d'émigrant Grec, s'intéresse à la musique en 1939. Il débute en 1943 et deviendra un découvreur de talent qui donnera leur chance à Ester Phillips, Hank Ballard, Little Willie John, Jackie Wilson, Big Mama Thorton et Little Richard. Ses propres succès dans le début des années cinquante, lui valent une renommée auprès du public noir et blanc. Johnny Otis était toujours en activité en 1990.
